Light to moderate rain likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am today.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places over the country," said a Met office weather bulletin here today.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

The country's maximum temperature yesterday was recorded 34 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division while today's minimum temperature 24.2 degrees Celsius was recorded at Sandwip.

Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 193 millimeters (mm) at Sandwip in Chattogram division.

The sunsets at 5:58pm today and rises at 5:46 am tomorrow in the capital.
