Tk 100 crore proposed for physically challenged people

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith today proposed an allocation of Taka 100 crore for the welfare of the physically challenged people for 2016-17 fiscal.

Placing the budget in the Parliament, the finance minister said, "Presently, the total number of physically challenged people stands at about 1.50 crore," he said. 

For the next year, we will make special arrangements in transports like trains, water vessels or city buses for the benefit of these people, he added. 

Certain steps have already been taken for the persons having neuro-developmental disability and steps will be taken take to make public toilets and government buildings convenient for the use of disabled people.
