In the autopsy of Stamford University student Rubaiyat Sharmin Rumpa, the Forensic Department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) found no evidence of rape.

After receiving the postmortem report on Saturday, Dr Sohel Mahmud, head of the DMC Forensic Medicine Department, confirmed the media news.

He said: "After reviewing the conclusions of a postmortem report, the report will be sent to the police on Sunday."

Twenty-two-year-old Rumpa, a second-year private university English student in the capital's Siddheshwari, was found dead on December 4 at 10:45 in a street behind Ayesha Shopping Complex.

The next day, the police identified the name.

Police's Detective Branch (DB) collected several footage clips from the 11-storey Ayesha Shopping Complex and surrounding areas to monitor the whereabouts of Rumpa before her death.

The next day, in connection with the death, Saikat, a friend of Rumpa, was arrested and put on a four-day remand.
