Finance Minister AMA Muhith today announced introduction of pension scheme for semi-government and public sector employees.

In the budget speech the minister said, "The government has taken a plan to introduce a universal pension scheme under integrated structure for the all employees who are involved in public sector and semi-government organizations formally or informally."

He said the DPS has created a new pension scope for the private sector and the foundation of the new plan would base on what steps could be taken to make it universal.

This scheme would ensure financial and social protection of the senior citizens in one hand and create a supportive fund in fulfilling the long-term investment including ensuring depth of the financial sector on the other, he hoped.
