Nurse’s daughter raped at city hospital, canteen boy held

Police arrested a canteen boy of Gonoshastha Nagar Hospital on charge of violating an 8-year old girl at the hospital in the city’s Dhanmondi area on Thursday evening.
Md Abdul Latif, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Dhanmondi Police Station, said that the mother of the victim girl is a nurse of the hospital. The girl used to come to the hospital with her mother.
Like other days, the child came to the hospital with her mother in the afternoon.
At one stage, the canteen boy named Raihan took her to the stair of the canteen alluring her of giving mobile phone and raped her, said the OC.
Sensing the incident, other staff of the hospital detained Raihan and handed him over to Dhanmondi police.
The victim was admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
Raihan confessed to his gilt to police. He will be produced before a Dhaka court today, the OC informed.
