Gold price up by Tk 1,225 per bhori, silver by Tk 58

The price of gold in the local market has risen by Tk 1,225 per bhori on an average after the price was increased within the past two months following an upward trend in the international markets.

The revised price for gold and silver will be effective from Friday (May 6), says a press release issued by Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BJS) on Thursday.

The prices of gold stood Tk 47,414 per bhori for 22-carat (11.664 grammes), Tk 45,315 for 21-carat, Tk 38,666 for 18-carat, and traditional gold Tk 27,585 per bhori.
The price of silver has also risen by TK 58 alongside the rising price of gold. Now, each bhori of silver will cost Tk 1,166.

Earlier on February March 7, gold price rose by Tk 1,225 per bhori on an average in the local markets with a month the price saw another upward trend on February 13 this year.
