Prime Minister urges unity against terrorism

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called for national unity against terrorism, saying that terrorists have no religion or state.

Speaking at a briefing about her recent visit to Bruenei at Gono Bhaban, she said her government has zero tolerance to terrorism.

The premier also touched on the recent events of attacks in Sri Lanka and New Zealand and expressed sorrow over the incident.

Also, on the Rohingya note, she said Bangladesh wants safe return of Rohingya refugees to Myanmar.

During the visit, Bangladesh and Brunei on April 22 signed seven instruments for strengthening cooperation mainly in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, livestock, culture and sports, and the supply of LNG.

The instruments were signed after the official bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Brunei’s Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah at the Istana Nurul Iman, the official residence of the Sultan of Brunei.

Sheikh Hasina, also president of the ruling Awami League, would make outcome of the visit public through the press conference and talk to the journalists about the country’s prevailing situation including politics, the source said.
