Man to die for killing wife in C’nawabganj

A court here on Monday convicted a man and sentenced him to death for killing wife in Shibganj upazila on October 7, 2016.
The convict is Sumon Ali, 29, son of Amir Hossain of Chowtonypur Mia Para village.
The court also fined him Tk one lakh.
According to the prosecution, Farzana Akhter Shima, daughter of Nur Alam, a resident of Baganpara village, was married to Sumon in 2012.
As Sumon used to torture Shima after the marriage the couple got divorced in 2015 .
Even though they got separated Sumon used to disturb Shima.
On October 7, 2016, Sumon went to Shima’s house and stabbed her and her mother Dilwara Begum, leaving Shima dead on the spot.
Victim’s elder brother Kamruzzaman filed the murder case with Shibganj Police Station.
After examining all the records and 11 witnesses, Chapainawabganj additional session judge Md Shawkat Ali handed down the verdict.
