Ensure to send sufficient food to countrymen: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this is not enough only to produce food. We have to ensure to send the foods to the countrymen.

The prime minister delivering her speech at the programme of National Food Safety Day at Krishibid Institute today.

The premier said her government took initiative to ensure for safe nutrition and will take step to prevent malnutrition.

This is trend to our countrymen to produce adulterated food, she said adding that stern action will be taken against food adulteration.

We have already approved safe food act. It was our aim when we will come in power, we will ensure food safety, she said.

We are forth to produce rice while third in vegetable in the world. We took intiative that how to produce more home made fish, the premier said.

We started first to produce maize. As our land is very fertile, so we will be able to alleviate the food scarcity, Hasina said.
