Schoolgirl commits suicide in city

A schoolgirl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in Shahjahanpur of the capital on Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Shanta Akhter, 15, daughter of Karim of the area.
Shanta is said to have committed suicide in her bedroom by hanging herself from ceiling fan around 6 pm, said Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost.
Family members brought her in after breaking down the door to enter her room and rushed to DMCH where the doctor declared her dead around 7pm, he added.
