Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Rabab Fatima has portrayed Bangladesh’s robust development and potentials and urged Bangladeshis living in Japan to contribute to the ongoing development process to realise the visions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“Bangladesh’s development is role model for the world,” she said while inaugurating the “Development Fair-2018” on Friday organised by the Embassy of Bangladesh, Tokyo.

The envoy described how Bangladesh is marching on the ‘highway of progress and prosperity’ adopting the development philosophies of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo.

She elaborated the development history and highlighted major factors that contributed to the miraculous development of Bangladesh.

Rabab Fatima said the visions and the development strategies of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu have been the foundation of Bangladesh’s development roadmap.

Referring to the Vision-2021 and Vision-2041 of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, she highlighted key areas where future growth potentials will be centered upon and urged the invitees to contribute to the ongoing development process to realise the visions of the Prime Minister.

The Ambassador pointed out that as recognition of the tremendous achievements over the last decade, the Prime Minister has been honoured with many prestigious awards including the Millennium Development Goals award, Achievements in Fighting Poverty award, Planet 50-50 award and Agent of Change award.

This year, she has been given Global Women’s Leadership and Distinction Award for outstanding Leadership.

Highlighting the history and importance of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Japan, Rabab Fatima also gave an account of cooperation between the two countries that worked as a significant boost for the economy of Bangladesh.

She said Japan was the largest development partner as well as the biggest export market for Bangladesh in Asia.

Many of the large development projects in Bangladesh were financed and assisted by Japan, the ambassador added. She urged the expatriate Bangladeshis present at the programme to contribute to Bangladesh’s development by creating employment opportunities in Japan, transferring technologies to Bangladesh and channeling investment and businesses in Bangladesh.

Counsellor of the Embassy Dr Ziaul Abedin made the presentation to complement the speech of the Ambassador. A video was also played to showcase the recent development of Bangladesh.

After the presentation, the audience engaged in a vibrant and constructive discussion on the role of expatriate Bangladeshis in the development of Bangladesh.

They expressed their satisfaction for being able to join the programme and thanked Embassy for organising such an event.

The discussion ended with a unanimous commitment to fulfill the dream of Bangabandhu and strengthen the hands of the Prime Minister to realise Bangladesh’s development goals.
