3 bodies recovered in Bagerhat trawler capsize

At least three women drowned as a trawler, carrying some 100 passengers, capsized in the Panguchi River in Morelganj upazila on Tuesday morning, reports news agency UNB.

Md Rashedul Alam, officer-in-charge of Morelganj Police Station, said the trawler sank in the river around 10:30 am while heading towards Purano thana ghat from Srombaria.

Later, Coast Guard members and police retrieved three bodies from the river.

The number of missing people and the identities of the deceased could not yet be known.
