Through manipulating documents five years ago, a Chinese woman reportedly became a country's elector.

Since having married a Bangladeshi expatriate many years ago, the suspected Chinese resident had moved to Feni.

Nonetheless, after the forgery was found, the Election Commission suspended her from the voting list and revoked her national ID card issued under the name "Ayesha Zhuang Zening Akthar," notes bdnews24.com.

The EC has also taken action against her and those who helped her to fake the papers in a letter to Feni Sadar Upazila Election Officer.

Recently, the matter came to light when it raised the immigration department's suspicion, he said.

Zening and her husband from Bangladesh are both abroad.

The maximum penalty for providing false information is incarceration for six months or fines of Tk 2,000 or both.
