Monnujan leaves for Geneva tonight to attend ILO meeting

State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian will leave here tonight for Geneva to attend the 337th session of the governing body of International Labour Organization (ILO).

The state minister will leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 1 am tonight for Geneva, public relations officer of the ministry Akhtarul Islam told BSS over phone.

At the ILO’s midterm report presentation session to be held on November 5 on its global descent working environment programme, she will highlight Bangladesh’s progress in this field.

During the ILO meeting, Monnujan will lead a 14-member Bangladesh delegation, an official release said.

Labour and Employment Secretary K M Ali Azam and Bangladesh Ambassador to Switzerland and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Offices in Geneva Shameem Ahsan will also attend the ILO meeting.

The state minister is expected to return home on November 8.
